UV Photocatalytic Deodorization Equipment

 

UV photocatalytic equipment is an efficient waste gas treatment device, which is widely used in the field of industrial waste gas treatment through the combination of UV photolysis technology and catalytic oxidation technology to decompose the harmful substances in the waste gas. It is especially suitable for removing odour, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and some toxic and harmful gases, such as benzene, toluene, xylene, hydrogen sulphide, ammonia and so on.

 

1. Working principle
The working principle of UV photocatalytic equipment mainly includes the following stages:

(1) UV photolysis
The high-energy ultraviolet lamps inside the equipment emit ultraviolet light with wavelengths of 185nm and 254nm, which directly destroys the chemical bonds in the molecules of the exhaust gas and breaks down the large-molecule pollutants into small-molecule compounds. For example, the benzene ring is decomposed into CO₂ and H₂O.

(2) Ozone oxidation
UV light can also break down oxygen molecules (O₂) in the air to form highly reactive ozone (O₃). Ozone is a strong oxidising agent that can further oxidise harmful substances in exhaust gases and convert them into non-toxic and harmless substances.

(3) Catalytic oxidation
The interior of the equipment is usually equipped with a catalyst coating or filler (e.g., titanium dioxide TiO₂), which, through the excitation of ultraviolet rays, forms highly active free radicals, further accelerating the degradation of hazardous substances in the exhaust gas.

(4) Discharge to standard
After the above treatment, the exhaust gas is converted into harmless substances such as carbon dioxide and water, and meets the environmental emission standards.

 

2. Equipment structure
UV photocatalytic equipment usually consists of the following parts:

UV lamp: the core part of the equipment, generating high-energy UV light for decomposition and oxidation of pollutants.
Equipment shell: usually made of stainless steel or carbon steel, corrosion-resistant, anti-light leakage.
Catalytic reaction chamber: the interior is coated with catalyst or filled with catalyst material to enhance the oxidation reaction of the exhaust gas.
Control system: including fan, electric control device, lamp control switch, etc., used to regulate the operating parameters of the equipment.
Air inlet and outlet: reasonably designed airflow channels to ensure that the exhaust gas stays in the equipment long enough to increase the treatment efficiency.
